How Fast Your Loading Site Speed?
Some of website give us free website speed test tool. The aimed is to check and know how fast our website downloading the pages. We all don't want our visitors wait the pages opened too long times and make them leave our website. That's why the search engine like Google and Yahoo created perfectly algorithm and able to show their result under 0.5 second. That's good performance.
If you have a website, check it now. The tools give information of website loading time and some additional one. Before using this tool fix that you have deleted chache of the internet browser and turn of any accelerator programs. As the example, here is my personal website testing result :
Fill your site address into available column :
1. Iwebtool.com
Using this tool, you can test more than 1 until 10 website name at the time.
2. Pingdom.com
You can check only one by one. But this tool will give you recorded load time data historical.

3. Websiteoptimization.com
This tool is also like pingdom.com. Only able to test a single name website but it provied additional information about their analysis and recommendation like I've shown below
Analysis and Recommendations (the additional information)
- TOTAL_HTML - Congratulations, the total number of HTML files on this page (including the main HTML file) is 1 which most browsers can multithread. Minimizing HTTP requests is key for web site optimization.
- TOTAL_OBJECTS - Warning! The total number of objects on this page is 65 - consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external objects. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests.
- TOTAL_IMAGES - Warning! The total number of images on this page is 56 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your graphics. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests.
- TOTAL_CSS - Caution. The total number of external CSS files on this page is 4 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external CSS files. Ideally you should have one (or even embed CSS for high-traffic pages) on your pages.
- TOTAL_SIZE - Warning! The total size of this page is 606291 bytes, which will load in 133.83 seconds on a 56Kbps modem. Consider reducing total page size to less than 30K to achieve sub eight second response times on 56K connections. Pages over 100K exceed most attention thresholds at 56Kbps, even with feedback. Consider contacting us about our optimization services.
- TOTAL_SCRIPT - Caution. The total number of external script files on this page is 4 , consider reducing this to one or two. Combine, refine, and optimize your external script files. Ideally you should have one (or even embed scripts for high-traffic pages) on your pages.
- HTML_SIZE - Caution. The total size of this HTML file is 32224 bytes, which is above 20K but below 100K. With a 10K ad and a logo this means that your page will load in over 8.6 seconds. Consider optimizing your HTML and eliminating unnecessary features. To give your users feedback, consider layering your page or using positioning to display useful content within the first two seconds.
- IMAGES_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your images is 506822 bytes, which is over 30K. Consider optimizing your images for size, combining them, and replacing graphic rollovers with CSS.
- SCRIPT_SIZE - Warning! The total size of external your scripts is 24550 bytes, which is over 8K. Consider optimizing your scripts for size, combining them, and using compression where appropriate for any scripts placed in the HEAD of your documents.
- CSS_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your external CSS is 42695 bytes, which is over 8K. Consider optimizing your CSS for size by eliminating whitespace, using shorthand notation, and combining multiple CSS files where appropriate.
- MULTIM_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of all your external multimedia files is 0 bytes, which is less than 4K.
Why the result is different?
I don't have the answer about it. The best tool surely will give us the accurately information of the loading time. If I tested Google and Yahoo, the iweb.com and websiteoptimization.com resulting a slightly different not more than 0.1 second. The loading time for Google is around 0.22s and Yahoo is 0.55s. But using pingdom.com, the loading time reach 0.6s for Google and 1.5 for Yahoo. So significant!. I tested use those tools at very close time so this factor may neglected.
The conclusion
Certain a blog that you think it has good performance in loading time. Compare with your blog than you check the result. If yours has more second than the reference blog, you have to evaluate your server or hosting performance also the website design and content. Maybe there's too much images or graphics load and you must improve it.
